Good News Everyone!

It has been over a year since Mr. Dakus joined the ranks of The Able Kind and we figure that it is time that we do something fresh and cool for you, the fans.

We will be at the Rock Lodge this Canada Day weekend working very hard to give you something that we have wanted to offer you folks for a very long time...  A full length record!

We are very excited to be working together on new material for the first time and cannot wait to show you what we come up with.  Updates coming soon.

RCR Show

   Happy Hallowe'en, folks!

The Able Kind is prepped for this Saturday's show at Mercury Room. The boys will be sharing the stage with their comrades from the RCR Records roster to bring ROCK to those who love and need it. The bill is full of great local bands looking to have a good time with every who shows; if you don't, you're missing-out!

A bar is there and the price is fair!

...And Continue

TAK is continuing with plans to release a new single, "Civility", before the year is out. The tracks have been recorded and it's just a matter of in studio tweaking and fine-tuning before you all can have a listen. The band is also working on new material to bring to their live shows; originals and covers.

For the last two shows, Glen "Copper" Penney kept the beat for the guys at Live City and DV8, playing a set-list consisting of The Able Kind catalogue favourites along with a cover, here and there. The shows were a cheerful success as the crowd was truly engaged in the local rock 'n' roll blitz. Drummer Jeff will be back behind the kit for the group's upcoming endeavors.

Local DV8's

The Able Kind is opening for Ground Level Falcon's CD release show at DV8 this Saturday along with local band Lutra Lutra. The event is sure to be a good time as all the bands on the bill are stoked to be playing together and looking to ROCK!

Last Friday the band had their original drummer lay the beat for them at the YEG Music event in Beaumont. The show was at local favourite watering-hole and music venue Live City. Though there was a couple minor technical difficulties, the set ultimately went well as the trio mostly played old favourites from The Able Kind catalogue. Glen will also be sitting in for the set at DV8 this Saturday.

One Foot After Another

The Able Kind welcomes Jeff Dakus of Rock Lodge Studio to help keep the beat going since drummer and founding member Glen "Copper" Penney left the group earlier this year.

The new line-up has 3 shows this month: Sept. 16 & 30 @ DV8 On the Level (Edmonton), and @ Live City (Beaumont) Sept. 22. TAK is also booking shows for the remainder of the year; pls. visit "Contact Information"  to do so.

After being in the studio recently, the band has plans to release a new single in the near future. This will be the first original song released with new drummer Jeff Dakus.
